"I'm ready for LASIK. What's next?" Your Next Steps Toward Laser Corrected Vision
1) Call Our Office Once you have decided to proceed with LASIK, the next step for you is to call our office, (630) 232-7112, and schedule a "Pre-Operative LASIK Evaluation". 2) Complete a Comprehensive Ocular Health Evaluation We will perform a comprehensive Ocular Health Evaluation to determine if LASIK is appropriate for you. This will include the determining of a current refractive error, dilation of the eyes to determine the health of the eye and a general overview of the visual system. 3) Determine a Surgical Date Once we determine everything is in good order, we will then determine which surgical date will be good for you and we will then fax the results to our Laser Center. Once they receive the information, they will review the material with Dr. Probst and then give authorization to proceed. 4) Finalize Testing at the Surgical Center Once given the approval, TLC will contact you to schedule a visit at the surgical center to finalize additional testing before the actual procedure. At this visit, they will go over in detail the aspects of the surgery and allow you to ask any last minute questions. 5) Your LASIK Procedure! If everything proceeds as scheduled, you will have your LASIK procedure on the date you initially scheduled. You will need to bring a driver with you and expect to be there for approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours. 6) Post-Operative Check Up We will "see" you in our office the next day for your 1 day post-operative check up.
