Myopia Control/Accelerated Orthokeratology
"To Control or to Correct?"

Myopia Control is a way to stop or slow the progression of nearsightedness and astigmatism. If you currently wear soft contact lenses or glasses and find that your prescription is changing every year, you are among the many thousands who can benefit from this program. By controlling the amount of change in your prescription, we can stop or slow the progression so you will not end up with a high prescription and thick glasses. If both parents wear glasses and are nearsighted, there is a good chance you will need corrective lenses. It is especially true for children already wearing prescription lenses that through Myopia Control, we can keep their eye from progressively changing as they go through their "growth periods". If you are interested in slowing or stopping the myopia in your prescription, call our office to schedule a consultation; (630) 232-7112.

Accelerated Orthokeratology is an alternative to refractive surgery to reduce nearsightedness and astigmatism. The goal is to re-shape the cornea and to correct the nearsightedness as well as change the focus of the eye, thus improving vision. Ortho-K patients will wear "retainer" lenses to maintain the corrected shape of the cornea. Once the desired shape is acheived and stabilized, the need for glasses or contacts will be eliminated. Ortho-K has been around for the past 40 years and many patients have gone through this non-surgical procedure with excellent results.
